Meet The Team – Tim

Tim, with his father, Robin

Tim’s grandfather served in the RAF during the Second World War at Cosford where he was a Sergeant Instructor on aero engines, whilst his father, Robin, joined the RAF in 1967 as an Aircraft Mechanic (Electrical). As a reward for achieving above 80% on all his technical exams over the 8 month course, he was offered a trip of a lifetime in a Lightning from Wattisham. He served at RAF Stradishall and RAF Finningley.

Tim has a long affection with the RAF and aviation in general, remembering the big airshows in the 1980s and 1990s at Fairford, Farnborough and Mildenhall. His O-Level Technical Drawing projects included detail drawings and specifications of the F-4 Phantom and F-14 Tomcat.

Tim lives in Offton, with clear views of the Wattisham landing lights and the Apache flight paths.
