Meet The Team – Terry

A fascination with anything that flew, was the start of Terry’s ‘attachment’ with R.A.F Wattisham.

From an early age Terry can remember the plethora of aircraft types which filled the skies over Combs Ford on their journeys to and from this very active airfield.

His interest in aviation was enhanced on becoming a member of The Air Training Corps. This led to a Commission in The Royal Air Force VR (T) and commanding a Squadron at Wattisham Flying Station.

Other interests brought him into close liaison with The Army Air Corps, upon their arrival from Germany, when, after a short time, he became Chairman of The Wattisham Station Conservation Group, until his retirement.

Now, since joining Wattisham Station Heritage Museum, Terry can mostly be found in HAS25, with the small team, hosting visitors and getting involved with maintenance and other conservation tasks.

Hobbies include photography, ornithology and country pursuits.
